The practicality suffered because often times a patrol car was needed to funnel the target over the spikes, and the officers found themselves tethered to the system in close proximity to traffic, and the reality that they also required the use of protective cover, for safety and traditional systems could provide this for minimal cost, with speed and size benefits.
Deployments, Anytime Anywhere
These high tech solutions do not open up deployment areas, they also require cover for safety, and that can be achived with a very basic, affordable, compact deflator. Trident shown below is Spike Devils high tech solution, that works with our Auto-spike, its a basic system that deploys the spikes into the far lanes, but requires the officer to adjust the system and also pull it from traffic.
The Trident is tethered to the strip and when hit by a car it retracts from traffic. the officer can then fold up the system for storage.
